Sylwia Stamm-Nawrocka

Sylwia Stamm-Nawrocka, MS, LCMHC, LCPC, SEP®

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
 Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Somatic Experiencing Practitioner®

I am a compassionate, down to earth person offering therapy to both individuals and couples. It is my belief that healing comes from within you, and within the context of a relationship. I specialize in working with the effects of trauma on people's lives, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and relational troubles. I practice using Somatic Experiencing and EMDR to help clients find calmness, wholeness, emotional resilience, and renewed connection to themselves and to people in their lives.

My specialty also includes working with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy to help them find different ways to express their feelings and needs to their partners and create a sense of safety and closeness in their relationships.

People describe me as warm, gentle, genuine. I believe that a significant part of what is healing about therapy is the trusting relationship. I aim at helping people feel supported as they make changes and I stress personal responsibility by encouraging them to take a compassionate and honest look at themselves.

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
 Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor®

I earned my Master's of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Montana State University-Bozeman in 2010. For the past 16 years, I have been providing therapeutic and counseling services in a variety of settings, including therapeutic youth group homes, in-home services, and a local elementary school. I'm a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor® and I put a very high value on the importance of play, both for children's mental health and their lives in general.

As a play therapist, my goal is to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for children to express themselves using their primary language: Play. By utilizing play therapy, I am able to build a strong therapeutic relationship, a cornerstone to change and healing.

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and two dogs exploring and playing in the many wonders of nature.

Contact Michael for an initial phone consultation and to schedule an appointment.
